The Ard Moors was the first up in the Ard series this year, moving forward to the height of summer. The weather was sunny and hot, the trails were fast, dusty and loose.
I shot practice on stage 6, out on the hillside with no shade apart from my umbrella. Keeping the shot simple, I chose a small tabletop with a clean background, capturing the riders as they came over, most managing to get some air.
Come race day I retreated in to the woods for some shade on stage 1.
Again choosing a small jump as the riders entered the trees.
There were a few of features on the small section of trail, but I made my main focus the jump leading back in to the woods.
